In Grammy News...

Photobucket

It's that time of year, The Grammy Awards, the music industry's biggest night. Music/ Business icon-mogul Clive Davis held his Salute to Icons party last night. If you didn't know any better you would think the Grammy ceremony was last night but no, that was just the full roster of the music industry's finest in attendance. From Rihanna, Chris Brown, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Adele, Leona Lewis, Keyshia Cole, Jennifer Hudson, Akon, Estelle, Duffy, Diddy, Faith Evans and the list goes on and on. Although the room was filled with enough stars to fill the sky there was one that shining extra bright on that night, Witney Houston, making her rounds on the comeback trail. She looked like she killed whatever performance she did. One day S and I will be leading careers that we love.

In more Grammy News, as you can see above the group of hip-hop's hottest is practicng their performance for "Swagger Like Us". I seriously cannot wait for this performance. Both Kanye and T.I. have promised to give the audience something that will blow them away. The other aspect of this performance that adds another level of excitement is M.I.A. My main musical lady will be performing tonight as well. What's so out of the ordinary you ask? M.I.A. is actually due to deliver her first born tonight and she's going to be up on stage giving it her all. That baby is going to be a talented one I tell ya.

So don't miss the 51st Annual Grammy Awards TONIGHT on CBS at 8 p.m. ET. I know I'll be blasting the surround sound with my eyes glued to the tv like I was there.

Ms. Keri

Eventhough Polow Da Don is constantly blamed for ripping off other people's beats he still knows how to make it his own and run with it. No denying this one, it surely is a radio-friendly BANGER.

Keri's voice is a nice feature on the already hot track by R Les. I'm looking forward to Keri's debut and Ryan Leslie is already in the study working on his sophomore album.

Plies "Want It, Need It" Video Premiere

The song is pretty good, but this video is just cheap. Oh I beg my pardon the recession is in full effect.

David Gets Delirious

7 year-old David has become an internet sensation a half a year later because of this very same video. The video shows David on his trip home from the dentist office still feeling the effects of anesthesia. Check the video out of him in his confused state.

Pharell Williams Nylon Magazine Interview

Oasis "Falling Down" M.V.

Excellent concept and fresh perspective on how a music video should be executed. It would be nice to see more videos take on this originality.

Vistoso Bosses

I may be ending my teen years soon enough but I cannot deny this track by Atlanta's Vistoso Bosses. Taylah and Kelci make up the singing/rapping duo, both of whom are 16 and together since 2006 . They are signed to Collipark Records, home of Soulja Boy. This song is a smooth R&B track with synthesizer sounds, electronic flute sounds, and airy vocals reminiscent of the 90's. I always say a girl doesn't have to have a voice like Mariah, Whitney, Jennifer or Beyonce to be considered musically talented. These girls have talent and they look to have a bright future ahead of them.

"WHAT DID I SAID"...WATCH THIS!

Here's a video from the Laugh Jamaica comedy series entitled "Rapunzel". In it, an adult woman dressed as a little girl speaks to her doll as if she was her mother but it's not until the end that you realize the way she was speaking to her doll is how her mother speaks to her, HILARIOUS! I tell you Jamaican comedy is something else.

Here is a new song by Holly Miranda featuring Kyp Malone entitled “Slow Burn Treason”. The production of this songs is pretty much out of this world for something so mellow.

The Cherrytree Records offices - or "The Cherrytree House," as they're affectionally known by the artists that visit there - have become the stage for some very intimate and stripped-down impromptu performances.
Here are Robyn's and Lady GaGa's EP's. Both kill it with their stripped down vocals. Check them both out.

You Must Not Cry Defeated One

Via: Fox Sports

Oh boy, don't I remember the days when I never missed a single Tennis event; Wimbledon, Australian Open, U.S. Open... Although I occassionally check once in awhile, it doesn't seem that much has changed, well at least in the women's division. Serena Williams won her 10th Grand Slam Title by defeating Danira Safira 6-0, 6-3 in Melbourne, Australia at the 2009 Australian Open. Williams was quoted as saying:

"I actually forgot until the end when I was saying hi to my box. They're like, 'Hey, you're No. 1.' I was like, 'Oh, yeah,"' she said.

"I always believe I'm the best, whether I'm No. 1 or 100," she said. "Just having that extra bonus is pretty cool."

"I always bring an outfit for the championships," she said. "I always try to think positive, and I think it helps me be able to win."

As for the men's title, Spanish tennis pro Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer yet again. Nadal defeted Federer in five sets (7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2). It must really be a dream killer for a younger and better player like Nadal to get in your way of meeting your goal. Federer has been aiming at matching Tennis great, Peter Sampras' 14 major titles but has been defeated three times by Nadal.

"God, it's killing me," Federer said, crying, as he tried at first to accept the runner-up plate.

He returned to congratulate Nadal within minutes, saying: "You deserved it. You played a fantastic final."

"Roger, sorry for today. I really know how you feel right now," Nadal said. "Remember, you're a great champion, you're one of the best in history. You're going to improve on the 14 of Sampras."

How mature it is that two very competitive men can get beyond their egos and show a little humility by displaying good sportsmanship to each other. Better luck next time Federer.

Recommended Watch: Jason Mraz SNL Performances

I caught these performances when they aired last night. I must give it to Jason Mraz, he definitely can sing live. The same thing goes for Colbie Cafe Latte, or however you pronounce her name. Both performances were a perfect ten. WATCH THEM!

The G.I. Joe Super Bowl Spot

... and the mass of Super Bowl commercials have started to make their way online. Seeing production stills from the movie set I was anxious to see what the outcome would be. I can't lie, this looks to be action packed from beginning to end. G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra hits theaters on August 7th.

"Us Against the World" B-t-S Footage

Christina Milian takes us all on a behind-the-scenes look at her music video for her single "Us Against the World" which premiered about 2 weeks ago. The way the video came out was so grandeur and epic but you wouldn't think that from the behind-the-scenes footage. Also I've heard many people's opinions saying just how beautiful and pretty Miss Milian is and I fully agree. She's just not at the top of the list, or my list, I like a girl with a bit more fire she's just too cute.

WOW the production on this one is pure heat. I always find Pharrell's productions to be sharp.

Wayne's Amazing Love

Photobucket

This is the third single to leak from Weezy's upcoming rock LP, Rebirth, and it's not even due for release until April. As for the song I love it, it's one big colossal mess. The instrumental is on point while Weezy sings with a drunken voice drowned in auto-tune.
