It's that time of year, The Grammy Awards, the music industry's biggest night. Music/ Business icon-mogul Clive Davis held his Salute to Icons party last night. If you didn't know any better you would think the Grammy ceremony was last night but no, that was just the full roster of the music industry's finest in attendance. From Rihanna, Chris Brown, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Adele, Leona Lewis, Keyshia Cole, Jennifer Hudson, Akon, Estelle, Duffy, Diddy, Faith Evans and the list goes on and on. Although the room was filled with enough stars to fill the sky there was one that shining extra bright on that night, Witney Houston, making her rounds on the comeback trail. She looked like she killed whatever performance she did. One day S and I will be leading careers that we love.

In more Grammy News, as you can see above the group of hip-hop's hottest is practicng their performance for "Swagger Like Us". I seriously cannot wait for this performance. Both Kanye and T.I. have promised to give the audience something that will blow them away. The other aspect of this performance that adds another level of excitement is M.I.A. My main musical lady will be performing tonight as well. What's so out of the ordinary you ask? M.I.A. is actually due to deliver her first born tonight and she's going to be up on stage giving it her all. That baby is going to be a talented one I tell ya.

So don't miss the 51st Annual Grammy Awards TONIGHT on CBS at 8 p.m. ET. I know I'll be blasting the surround sound with my eyes glued to the tv like I was there.

Well it's an OFFICIAL wrap for girl group Danity Kane. This is no suprise in more ways than one. From Diddy dropped the bomb of kicking out Aubrey O'day and telling D. Woods she could leave, no one actually expected this group to stay alive after a hard hit like that. All pop acts have a time limit, it's just how much they're willing to sacrifice and how hard they plan on working to stay relevant.

However things are looking up for Dawn Richard. She was kept on by Diddy as a solo act and will also have a featured spot on Diddy's upcoming untitled album. It's too bad though with the success of Danity Kane's last two albums, the third might have just been the charm to solidify them as international pop stars. Now the countdown begins on how long it will be before Day26 breaks up.

Jennifer Hudson is finally back to work on the set of her music video for "If This Isn't love". She is also set to perform the National Anthem at this Sunday's Superbowl and at the Grammys the following Sunday. All this work is the perfect distraction she needs right now.

Yesterday news spread like wildfire about the confirmation of the professional split between Kelly Rowland and Matthew Knowles. Knowles, manager of Destiny's Child, the solo careers of the members and manager to second daughter Solange Knowles, has finally been smacked in his face. Below are two statements regarding the split

Kelly Rowland
“Mathew Knowles has been a positive influence in my career. I have had great success under his guidance — both as a member of Destiny’s Child and with my solo projects. Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family.”

Matthew Knowles
“After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship. My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny’s Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. We will always be family first and foremost, and as a dad I only have love for Kelly.”

All I have to say it's about time. Those statements seem so fake. Of course with public statements you have to have some sort of dignity and class but I know inside Knowles is pissed as hell and Rowland is smiling from ear to ear. As time progresses we'll see if Kelly's poor performance as a solo artist really had to do with Knowles being her manager.

It seems that Coldplay has already started working on their new album, the follow up to the mega-successful Viva La Vida... The announcement was made via Twitter (something I still have yet to join). Back with them is Brian Eno, the man who produced a good amount of material for them on the last album. I don't know what to think of this, usually when artists return too quickly from success, their material is weak, with the exception of Rihanna. She released three albums in two and half years with the third being the biggest seller and most complex.

It was announced today that ultra-eclectic rock group Radiohead will be performing at The 51st Grammy's ceremony next Sunday, the 8th of February. As much as I love The Grammy Awards, it's one big snooze fest with a few highlights. It seems as though that fact is finally registering in the Grammy folks' minds and they're trying to correct it. The rest of the performance line-up confirmed thus far is; Paul McCartney (with special guest drummer Dave Grohl), Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, Jennifer Hudson, Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Justin Timberlake, T.I., Kanye West and Lil Wayne.
