"My President is Black" Jay-Z Remix

If you know me then you know how I feel about this song. We'll get to that in a few sentences.

WOW only Jay-Z can get away with being sooo arrogant and admirable at the same time. I know when the CDQ leaks the servers are going to go crazy for this one. What gets me to listen to this song is the instrumental, POWERFUL, and I'm biased towards Mr. Carter.

Now on to my thoughts. I have to vent a little and please don't take it personal. This song is so DENSE and BRAINLESS. For what reason is it important to point out that Mr. Obama is black, no point, and people wonder why 'they' get upset when the rest of the U.S. sets them aside in a group.  I understand how far blacks have come, it's a wonderful thing, it really is. The point has been made just by Obama being elected as president so why point out the obvious? This song gives off both positive and negative highlights but the negatives are more pronounced. It doesn't come off as, oh finally a male, who happens to be black, has been elected as president, let's move onward together. It comes off as, hahahaha my president is black you bunch of crackers, we takin' overrrrrrr! Now if this is coming across as an insult forgive me I haven't organized my thoughts properly, I'm just translating them into sentences as I remember them. And by all means I am not a racist, my father is a blue-eyed blonde hair(well grey now) man and my mother while not the darkest of skin tones, is still black along with other races being in my blood and extended families. Please, I hang with the blackest of the blacks, the yellowest of the yellows, the reddest of the reds and the whitest of the whites, so by all means move past this whole race thing it's a bunch of SHIT. I was trying to refrain from using profanity but I can't contain it. "The white man is holding us back", NO, your holding yourselves back, because why the hell can guys like Djimon Hounsou and Akon be so successful? If it takes working a little harder than others so be it. In conclusion, stop doing things to further segregate yourselves if you all are so much about being "UNITED" now.

With that off my chest enjoy the video ;).
